- Social Security Disability Insurance Benefits (Title II): If you are no longer able to maintain employment due to a permanent illness, injury, or condition, you may be entitled to Social Security Disability Insurance Benefits. These benefits are payable based on your work history.
- Supplemental Security Income (Title XVI): Even if you have never had long-term employment, you may still qualify for disability benefits if you are found to be permanently disabled and have limited income and assets.
- Disabilities: Most people are not found to be disabled based on one condition alone: most have a combination of disabilities. We can help you understand why every impairment is important and how they fit together.
- Initial Applications: Many people do not contact a lawyer until after their initial application is denied. However, an experienced attorney can help you prepare your application and assist you in the first stages of the process in order to maximize your chances of success as early on as possible.
- Reconsideration: This is the first step in the appeals process. Even though it resembles the initial application stage in regard to how a claim is examined, we can help you see what might have been left out of your application and assist you in developing your case thoroughly.
- Hearings: For many people, this is the most important step in the disability process. We obtain and analyze all the relevant evidence, and we prepare you for your participation in the hearing.
- Appeals Council: Even if you lose at the hearing, there is another administrative appeal possible. We will represent you at the Appeals Council in an effort to get the hearing decision changed.
- Federal Courts: Claimants who have lost at every stage of the Social Security administrative process may file an action in federal court. Many disability attorneys will not take a case to federal court, but we will do so if the facts are sufficient.
