Charlotte Request for Reconsideration Attorney

What Is A Request For Reconsideration?

Even if your initial application for SSDI or SSI is denied, it is not the end of the line. The vast majority of applicants are denied benefits initially, and many eventually receive them. You can appeal your denial by asking the SSA to “reconsider” its decision regarding your application.

An experienced lawyer can help you with this step. At the Charlotte law office of Hempson & Zupanec, our attorneys focus exclusively on representing claimants in disability cases. We specialize in helping people like you in this complicated area of the law.

Reconsideration Process

If your application is denied, you can file an appeal called a Request for Reconsideration.  You will provide SSA with updated information about your doctors and medications.  SSA will make a new decision regarding your claim after it reviews your updated information.

The Social Security Administration denies approximately 87% of claims at the Reconsideration stage in North Carolina and about 85% of claims in South Carolina.  With these odds, you want to make sure that your appeal is prepared thoroughly.  You want it to include all the necessary information, and you want your appeal filed in a timely fashion.

Our experienced attorneys can help you present the information in your appeal fully and carefully. We will handle all the paperwork for you.  We are available to answer any questions you might have during this difficult process.
